VISITATION MINISTRY

Bringing the Parish Community to Those at Home.

The Visitation Ministry is dedicated to sharing fellowship, compassion, and the presence of the parish community with those parishioners who are unable to participate fully in parish life due to illness, age, or residence in care facilities. Through regular outreach, this ministry ensures that no member of our parish feels forgotten or isolated from the life of the Church.

Each participating minister is typically assigned two to three parishioners and offers weekly visits, providing companionship, prayer, and a listening presence. Ministers who visit in person are required to complete a background check and the Virtus: Protecting God’s Children training to ensure the safety, dignity, and well-being of those they serve.

In addition to in-person visits, the Visitation Ministry maintains a monthly card-writing outreach to parishioners who are homebound or in care facilities. This aspect of the ministry allows parishioners to participate in a meaningful way by sending notes of encouragement, prayer, and connection. No certification is required to participate in the card campaign, which has proven to be a deeply rewarding experience for those writing and delivering the cards, as well as for those who receive them.

The parish community is encouraged to keep our homebound brothers and sisters in prayer and to consider participating in this important ministry of presence, compassion, and fellowship.
