Ushers and greeters

Serving the Parish THrough WELCOME, Hospitality,
AND CARE.

Ushers and Greeters serve as ministers of hospitality and are often the first point of welcome for parishioners and visitors attending Mass. Through a warm and attentive presence, they assist with seating, offer guidance, and provide support to individuals and families with special needs.

During the liturgy, Ushers help facilitate the smooth flow of the celebration by collecting the offertory, assisting with the Communion procession, and distributing bulletins at the conclusion of Mass. Following each celebration, they also help ensure the church is prepared for subsequent liturgies by maintaining order in the pews and the narthex.

Ushers participate in periodic training and refresher sessions, typically held every one to two years. These sessions provide opportunities to review responsibilities, learn best practices, and welcome new members into the ministry. Outside of these trainings, there are no regularly scheduled meetings, allowing volunteers to focus primarily on their service during Mass while remaining connected through occasional communication and guidance.

Through their service, Ushers and Greeters play an essential role in fostering an atmosphere of hospitality, reverence, and care within the parish community.
