Nursing MINISTRY
Walking with our parish community in health and healing.
The Parish Nurse Ministry supports the health and well-being of our faith community by integrating faith and healing through care for the body, mind, and spirit. Rooted in compassion, confidentiality, and professional standards, this ministry offers a caring presence for parishioners who may need health education, personal guidance, or supportive communication.
Serving as St. Michael’s Parish Nurse, also called Community Faith Nurse, this ministry helps connect pastoral care with health awareness in a way that reflects Christ’s healing presence. Educational opportunities, including classes in topics such as CPR, First Aid, and AED training, may also be offered to help equip and support the parish community.
This ministry is led by a highly experienced professional nurse, Elizabeth Bandyk, MSN RN CMC, with more than 40 years of service in areas including Emergency and Trauma, Geriatrics, Surgery, ICU, and Community Nursing. In addition to her professional work as the owner and founder of CURA Care Management, she also volunteers with the Council on Aging, American Red Cross, and the Nassau County Health Department.
It is a blessing to offer this ministry as a source of care, encouragement, and support for the people of St. Michael’s Catholic Church.
