BEREAVEMENT Reception MINISTRY
Offering Comfort Through Hospitality.
The Bereavement Reception Ministry is a compassionate outreach that serves families who have experienced the loss of a loved one by providing a welcoming meal for family members and guests following the funeral service.
Through this ministry, volunteers help create a warm and supportive environment in the parish hall where grieving families can gather, share memories, and spend time together surrounded by the care of their parish community.
Members assist with setting up, preparing, serving, and cleaning up after each reception. These simple acts of hospitality offer meaningful comfort to families during a difficult time and serve as a tangible expression of Christ’s compassion and love.
The Bereavement Reception Ministry is made up of three rotating teams, with each team typically serving approximately eight times per year. By sharing the responsibility among several teams, volunteers are able to offer their time and gifts in a manageable and meaningful way.
If you have a heart for serving others and a desire to offer comfort and hospitality to families in their time of grief, the Bereavement Reception Ministry is a beautiful opportunity to serve.
