What is Urban Plunge? A mission trip where teens are empowered to make a difference by serving others. Urban Plunge is a week-long mission trip ( Sunday through Saturday) where teenagers and adult advisors build a service community. We "plungers" have crews to maintain our camp and to repair the homes of the elderly and impoverished. Previously the youths of St. Michael Catholic, St. Peters Episcopal, and United Methodist Churches have served the communities of St. Augustine, Fl and Waycross, GA. "Urban Plunge 2004 will be serving the community of Brunswick, GA. We will be living at the Honey Creek Conference Center."

How is the money spent that is donated to Urban Plunge?
All of the money generated for Urban Plunge is spent on the materials needed to repair the homes of our clients.
However, those are not the only expenses for a trip of 40 youth and adults.
We rely on the goodness of others to donate the materials that make this trip possible. Our biggest expense could be lodging. However, as in previous years, in exchange for the use of the facilities at Honey Creek, we will earn our keep by working for the camp.
Our expenses fall into two categories: food and building materials.
FOOD: We prepare our breakfast and lunch everyday, with 30 teenagers, that's a lot of food! Our dinner is brought to us by various ministries from St. Michael's
BUILDING MATERIALS: We provide all materials and tools necessary to repair the homes of our clients. Last year, we repaired 40 homes. We are in need of lumber, paint brushes, and other tools.
It is not always possible to know every material needed to complete a job. There are sometimes unforeseen problems that occur at the job site which require unexpected purchases. Funds are allocated to cover food, building materials, and the unexpected expenses.
